Orange Gun Club was formed in 1884 and is the oldest operating gun club within Massachusettes. Original documentation has long been lost over the years - the only reference available is the land title.
The club itself resides on 70+ acres of woodland with four ranges and two man made fishing ponds. The club was incorporated on November 4th, 1947. At the clubhouse members and guests can enjoy the company of others with similar interests. There are many monthly meals served in the dining room or under the pavillion. Several of these provide the opportunity to dine on some of the finest local game donated by the prior season's successful hunters and prepared by member volunteers.
On the grounds there is a pavillion which will seat 300 comfortably. Beside it there is a covered BBQ pit which will hold enough chicken or steak for all. Two man made "stocked" fishing ponds are nearby. There are four separate ranges on the property which are overseen by the club's range officer. Archery, pistol, long gun and traps are all available for member's use. There is formal trap competition each Sunday morning and Tuesday evening during three seasons.
